Contrada Canyon exists to bring frontier intelligence to real businesses without removing the people, intuition, judgment and care that make those businesses worth serving.

The work stays deliberately open because the business is the brief: a new offer, a branch worth testing, a search opportunity, a clearer position, a better customer path, a stronger operating system or a more truthful way to show up. We start with what needs to change, not with a predetermined service.

We study the newest developments in AI so clients do not have to. We translate what matters, and build only where it can simplify the business, reduce avoidable work, reveal where revenue may be missed and create useful operating capacity.

Why contrada

In Italy a contrada is a district: a quarter with its own name, its own colours, its own banner. In Siena there are seventeen, and twice a year they race each other around the piazza.

A contrada is not decoration. It is how a place is known, and how it is told apart from the one beside it. Every business is running in the same piazza, whether or not it has chosen its colours.

A website used to be a page. This one has time in it.

The canyon opens, the light arrives and the structure appears at the speed of the visitor's own hand. Motion earns attention only when control stays direct.

Made out of your material, so it cannot be resold.

The light above was computed from this photograph and its measured ridgelines. Move the system to another image and it fits nothing. Yours would be shaped by your material, not resold as a template.

Cinematic, and still direct under the hand.

A spectacular frame is easy. The work is keeping it direct while the browser composites image, paths, masks and light — then removing work the visitor cannot see.

What the studio remains answerable for

  • —A tool is chosen for the work, not for the novelty.
  • —Sources, inputs and generated outputs are recorded and clearly distinguished.
  • —Rights are checked, a named human owns the final decision and every working file is handed over.

Case file 001 · Contrada Canyon

The canyon had to move at the speed of the hand.

One photograph, two measured ridgelines and a scroll-controlled dawn. The first build worked in Chromium and failed under Safari micro-scroll and pointer input. We kept the scene and repaired the system beneath it.

  1. 01 · SourceMeasured from the material.The palette came from the photograph. Each luminous edge follows the actual rock, and the sun rises where the two traces meet.
  2. 02 · ConstraintThe visitor keeps control.Scroll and light answer the hand directly: no synthetic smoothing, no automatic timeline and no change to the contours or narrative timing.
  3. 03 · FailureOne browser exposed the truth.Safari revealed a 120 ms exclusion window, delayed pointer mapping and SVG mask work that Chromium made easy to overlook.
  4. 04 · RepairFix the system, keep the scene.Direct input was restored, invisible SVG work was stopped and the expensive luminance-mask path disappeared.

The effect was never the case study. Keeping it responsive without changing what the visitor saw was the work.

Michele reads it himself and comes back with what he can see from outside: where money may be leaking, where time appears to go, and the one change he would test first. The first conversation costs nothing.
