Contrada Canyon is an independent business studio and creative lab for businesses at a moment of change. We combine frontier AI with human judgment to see the whole business clearly — and decide what is actually worth changing.

The brief may begin with a new offer, a clearer position, a search opportunity, a broken customer path or work that keeps repeating. We follow the problem across the business instead of forcing it into a predetermined service.

We study what is new so clients do not have to chase it. Then we use only what earns its place: useful intelligence, practical systems and creative work that people can understand, own and run without us.

Why contrada

In Italy, a contrada is a district with its own name, colours and banner. In Siena, seventeen contrade enter the same piazza, each unmistakably itself.

A business enters its own piazza every day. Strategy decides how it moves. Identity makes it recognisable. Contrada Canyon works on both.

A spectacular frame is easy. The work is keeping it direct while the browser composites image, paths, masks and light — then removing work the visitor cannot see.

What the studio remains answerable for

—A tool is chosen for the work, not for the novelty.
—Sources, inputs and generated outputs are recorded and clearly distinguished.
—Rights are checked, a named human owns the final decision and every working file is handed over.

Case file 001 · Contrada Canyon

The canyon had to move at the speed of the hand.

One photograph, two measured ridgelines and a scroll-controlled dawn. The first build worked in Chromium and failed under Safari micro-scroll and pointer input. We kept the scene and repaired the system beneath it.

01 · SourceMeasured from the material.The palette came from the photograph. Each luminous edge follows the actual rock, and the sun rises where the two traces meet.
02 · ConstraintThe visitor keeps control.Scroll and light answer the hand directly: no synthetic smoothing, no automatic timeline and no change to the contours or narrative timing.
03 · FailureOne browser exposed the truth.Safari revealed a 120 ms exclusion window, delayed pointer mapping and SVG mask work that Chromium made easy to overlook.
04 · RepairFix the system, keep the scene.Direct input was restored, invisible SVG work was stopped and the expensive luminance-mask path disappeared.

The effect was never the case study. Keeping it responsive without changing what the visitor saw was the work.
